Engine Performance and Fuel Economy of the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta
In addition to the sleeker profile, sculpted hood, and chrome-trimmed redesigned grille, Volkswagen made some changes under the hood of the Jetta for 2019. The German automaker narrowed the engine options down to one (the incredibly efficient 1.4L turbo 4-cylinder) and made some adjustments to improve the driving dynamics and fuel economy.
Thanks to the turbo technology that was specially-created by Volkswagen, the 2019 Jetta cranks out 147 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. This power combination allows for an estimated fuel economy of 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. With the help of a 13.2-gallon fuel tank, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta can cover 396-city or 528-highway miles.
The engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic® and Sport mode. No matter which one you choose, you will enjoy a fun and sporty driving experience no matter if you are exploring the city or cruising across the country.
