2018 Volkswagen Passat vs 2017 Volkswagen Passat

Here at Douglas Volkswagen, one of our top-selling models is the Volkswagen Passat. It's hard not to fall in love with this midsize sedan with its comfortable cabin and excellent fuel economy. The 2018 edition of the Volkswagen Passat is expected to arrive at our dealership very soon, and it underwent a few changes. To help you understand those changes (and decide which model year of the beloved midsize sedan is right for you), we have created a comparison of the 2018 Volkswagen Passat against the 2017 Volkswagen Passat.

The primary change that occurred for the 2018 model year is a slightly larger 4-cylinder engine that is more efficient. Check out the specifications below:

Will a GT Version of the 2018 Volkswagen Passat be Available?

We are so excited to answer in the affirmative to that question! Volkswagen discovered that its fans love the power and attitude provided by the Golf GTI but also want a sedan-style option, so the German automaker is offering a Passat GT trim for the 2018 model year. The 2018 Volkswagen Passat GT will be outfitted with the VR6 engine, along with a sport-tuned suspension for a tighter handling (and more fun driving experience). It will also come with special badging and exclusive design elements.
